The Fatal Traffic Accidents dataset represents the location of fatal traffic accidents on public roadways in the United States. Dataset includes attributes such as the time of the accident, count of persons involved, roadway speed limit, pavement type and weather.

Collection Methodology

The FARS (Fatality Analysis Reporting System) database includes all fatal crashes collected from the following data sources: Police Crash Reports, State Vehicle Registration Files, State Driver Licensing Files, State Highway Department Data, Vital Statistics, Death Certificates, Coroner/Medical Examiner Reports, Hospital Medical Records, and Emergency Medical Services Reports.
