Dataset: Estimated Daytime Population
- Description
The US Census Bureau Estimated Daytime Population dataset includes the number of people who are employed in an area during normal business hours relative to the resident population present during the evening and nighttime hours. Metrics include count of estimated daytime population, daytime population change due to commuting and a ratio of workers-to-residents aggregated at the state and county levels.
- Collection Methodology
The Estimated Daytime Population is calculated by adding the total resident population and the total workers working in the area, then subtracting the total workers living in the area or place for each county. More information on calculations.
